An ASME certification or mark is the way to tell the regulators, customers, and industries that your organization is committed to quality and safety. It also indicates that your products are reliable, safe and high-quality. Thus, it is advisable to get your product registered under the appropriate authority to avoid any legal complications in the form of penalties.
R Stamp Asme Code
- Yanke Energy, Inc. Holds ASME 'S' and 'U' stamps covering the fabrication and assembly of high pressure boilers, heating boilers, pressure vessels and power piping. We also have the National Board NB and 'R' Stamp, allowing the repair and alteration of all boilers and pressure vessels. Requirements for code stamp qualification include certification of each welder, documentation of material and acceptance of the finished product by the Quality Control Manager and Authorized.
- Tech-Fab products bearing the ASME “U” stamp meet requirements published in the organization’s Boiler and Pressure Vessels Code. This code, which contains 12 subsections, provides detailed information on the construction, inspection and testing of qualified products.
Three Commonly Used Certifications for ABSA Pressure Vessels
- ASME U Stamp
Over 100 countries globally accept the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code or ASME BPVC to meet government safety rules and regulations. The ASME U Stamp is an indication that the pressure vessels adhere to ASME’s guidelines including design, fabrication, inspection, and testing. It is used for the certification and acceptance of pressure vessels. Seeing the “U” symbol on a product ensures that it meets the latest edition of the Code. It also affirms that the vessel is designed and manufactured according to the standards of ASME. - ASME R Stamp
The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors offers the R symbol stamp for the alteration and/or repair of pressure vessels, boilers, and other pressure-retaining items after subjecting the organization to an onsite review. Based on the jurisdictional requirements, the inspection may be handled by a member of the National Board or a representative. - Vessel CRN
Vessel CRN refers to the Canadian Registration Number. It is issued by an approved safety authority in each province and territory in Canada for pressure vessels, boilers, or any other fitting that operates at a pressure more than 15 pounds per square inch (psi). It is quite similar to the ASME standards, but slightly complicated because if you want your vessel certified across the country, you’ll have to meet the requirements in seven organizations or jurisdictions.
For any pressure vessels manufactured outside of Canada to be used in Canada, they must be registered by National Board and have a CRN.
Contact Aspire for Pressure Vessels that Meet the Required Standards
An R-stamp is issued to a company that has an existing ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) code stamp for construction and whose quality control system follows the guidelines set by ASME. By stamping their identifying numbers with a set of steel stencils, welders identify their work.

Products manufactured and accepted by an A.S.M.E. inspector bear the appropriate stamped symbol on a nameplate affixed to each vessel.
All material used in code manufacture must be documented. A mill test report showing the heat number and material specification, describing the chemical analysis and physical properties of the steel.
All ASME manufacturers and National Board stamp holders have an Authorized Inspector, who is the authority of code acceptability. He is an employee of a licensed insurance company and has jurisdiction over all code phases of manufacture, repair and alteration. He is authorized to suspend manufacture at any time or request that code imperfections be corrected.
